Matthew Minnis, CFA, Director of Trading and Investment Operations for Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP), and Philip Lawton, CFA, CIPM, discuss the role that VOR (Visualization of Risk) has played in helping MACP to conduct its investment program.

Financial Risk Group was the title sponsor for the Pacific Northwest Institutional Investor Forum, held last week in Portland, Oregon.

Dominic Pazzula and Matt Felix represented FRG at the forum, participating in a full agenda of interest to the institutional investment market. Key discussion topics included major economic trends, asset allocation and risk management, ESG integration, emerging markets, fixed income and rate hikes, and private equity allocation trends.

FRG’s VOR (Visualization of Risk) platform, designed to simplify portfolio risk and performance analyses, was highlighted during the conference. Matthew Minnis, CFA, Director of Trading and Investment Operations for Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP), discussed why his organization decided to use VOR to bring strategic functions in house, and how VOR enables MACP to successfully conduct its investment program more efficiently.

The forum was attended by more than 100 investment officers, board members and finance professionals from Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Hawaii, as well British Columbia, Canada.
